# Our objectives

Following GFMD’s overall strategy, our digital policy has two specific objectives:

#### [**1.** To create a well-informed and networked media development and journalism support community](https://strategy.gfmd.info/planning/digital-policy-advocacy-2021-2025/activities#1.-a-well-informed-and-networked-media-development-and-journalism-support-community)

#### [2. To promote e**vidence-based and harmonised digital media policy and advocacy**](https://strategy.gfmd.info/planning/digital-policy-advocacy-2021-2025/activities#2.-evidence-based-and-harmonised-digital-media-policy-and-advocacy)

{% hint style="info" %}
This strategy looks at articulating policy and advocacy opportunities and serving GFMD members through disseminating best practices and knowledge sharing, fostering representation in policy debates, informing legal regulatory frameworks and donor strategies, and addressing systemic challenges.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
The objectives also focus on strengthening the capacity of both the membership and the GFMD Secretariat to influence policy making.
{% endhint %}
